Toronto area - June 20 & 21

I'm going to be in the Toronto from June 15-23 and would like to hit some trails at least on June 20 & 21

Are there any shops that have bikes for rent or demos?

I think there's a downhill park a couple hours northwest of Toronto, but can't recall the name of the place.

Any help and/or guides would be appreciated.

Hardwood Hills?...DH is at Blue.

There's some nice trails where I ride, in the Collingwood area, about 1.5 hours north of Toronto. Kris at Kamikaze rents XC and DH bikes (if you can get on the gondola at Blue Mountain).

Lots of trails around Toronto, even a good one in downtown along the Don River...you can get there by public transit.

Happy trails...

I'll have a vehicle for the entire time, but I just need a bike to rent.

Is the Collingwood area XC?
Here are your best options (in my opinion):

If you want to DH. Head to bluemountain (bluemountain.ca). In Collingwood. Bike rental on site (DH and XC). You are looking at about a 2 hour drive. The area is nice, you may just want to go for the weekend.

There is also exceptional XC riding in and around the area. 3-stage and Kolapore by name. I have not ridden them, but hear they can be tough to navigate without GPS or a guide. If you have a GPS, check out the post recently with all the data.

If you want buff, fast XC trail riding, your best bet is Hardwoodhills (hardwoodhills.ca). Bike rental on site and an extended trail systems for an extended ride. ~1.5 hours North of the city.

Albion Hills may get mentioned to you. Another favorite spot, however it will be hosting the largest 24 hour race that weekend in North America. Stay away, unless you want to witness the sight.

There is lots of other riding in the area, but the two mtb centers mentioned above are probably the easiest for a visitor to access MTB.

I'm not sure about bike rentals, but a couple of us will be riding at Kelso on Monday around 6:00 pm (June 15). It's not big, but is a really nice place to ride. We'd be glad to show you around.

Durham Forest, Walker Woods and Glen Major Conservation Area are nice as well. Good XC, can't really get lost and close enough to the city.

Enjoy your stay

Collingwood is the hub for some of the best XC in Ontario...there's 3-Stage (Pretty River PP), Kolapore Conservation Area, and Loree Forest (boring) on the mountain,..Dufferin Forest about 40km south, Hardwood Hills about 40km to the east, a couple of hours from the trails in Bracebridge, and many more trails in the area.

It's a good idea to get a guide if you're up for a day or two if you're riding some of the unmarked trails...tough to get lost, but very easy to get turned around or get into some very sketchy stuff (you'll see why they're meant as hiking trails, especially sections on the Bruce)

Kamikaze (on Main Street ) and Squire John's (hwy 26) both rent XC bikes.

Let me know if you're up our way on Saturday...I've got a spare hardtail (medium), perhaps we can do a 3 hour tour.
