Tora 302 question

468 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  ridee
I purchased '08 Tora 302 u-turn coil version about one month ago. I think it's decent fork for the money, however there are some "issues" I've been having.

First there is zero response on small bumps, stanchions don't move at all and there is loud rattling. Also when I compress the fork I can hear the spring. Is that normal for this type of fork or should I have it serviced?

I currently have it on 130mm travel.

You have the Turn Key Lockout off right?

Yes, you can put copious amounts of grease on the spring and that will help silence it a bit if it bothers you.

Yes, lockout is off.
Well the 302 has a reputation of having damper issues...you may want to bring it by a shop (as SRAM works through LBS) and have them look at it or send it back to Rock Shox for service.
Thanks for your input.
I'm taking at my LBS tomorrow.
