any one ever try one of thoes? its less than $100, and looks like it comes with some cool stuff. is it worth it just to have till you bash it off a rock? I think I would rather have that straped to my head then the $300 ones. what do you guys think? a rip off? or a cheap substitusion?

"Source: PRNewswire, May 24, 2005. "Digital Blue announced today the launch of the highly anticipated Tony Hawk Helmet Cam, a lightweight self-contained digital camcorder which easily attaches to a helmet and records video and audio at the touch of a button with no cords necessary. Working with Tony Hawk, the internationally renowned skateboarding champion, Digital Blue created this revolutionary product to enable skateboarders, cyclists, snow boarders and other sports enthusiasts to make their own sports videos as exciting as anything seen on TV."

yeah thats true,
but if it's setup around those specs
(USB connection???) then it's basically a little kids playtoy.....
they're actually selling these things on the viosport site,
but make a disclaimer that if you want broadcast quality stuff,
this aint the one....it's 320x240 too, so might be decent for the web.....

Looks very similar in function to this one from Oregon Scientific:
http://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/product.asp?cid=8&scid=86&pid=560

ATC-1000 seems to have a bit more to offer with 32mb internal memory and more video plus still modes, but Digital Blue laser aiming might be the best feature of either!

Sample videos here:

Available here for $69.99 after rebate plus TV commercial and sample videos.

that'd be cool. you could do a weird mount, like the forks lowers for urban. that would be super sick. or maybe you could mount it looking foreward on the seat/chain stay. that would be an interesting shot.

It can also do 640x480, not just 320... thats not a bad resolution....
put a 1 gig SD card in there and its would be pretty sweet. SD cards are really cheap aswell....
