Titus El Guapo Seymour test - or its a bike not a piece of jewelry!

Titus El Guapo Seymour test - or its a bike not a piece of jewelry! from Lee Lau on Vimeo.

Boogeyman on Seymour. I was told this was a tough bike. It was a tough bike that handled a pretty rough trail very well. I forgot I had a big ring and shaved some cedar off ramps here and there but other then that; this is a competent downhiller and a tight, stiff, competent riding machine.

That was kind of lame, if you really want to test an el guapo send it to me, if I can't break it no one can.
well the bike did what it was made for, cross country.
how do you review wheels? They held true. They spin. boy are they ever bling looking.

A dorp is a drop to flat. It's a play on words that got popular in North van as we had so many of them.

I suppose you could mention what you were running before and compare the engagement points to that. Does the freehub make sound? How is the tire profile on them...looks like those wheels are more narrow than the DT 5.1, so I figure a rounder profile. Did you set them up tubeless?

As with all CB stuff, I guess I will ping you for a long term review to see how they hold up over a year..

Dorp - very nice.
Wow! Great review!! Man oh man, the vid makes everything look easier. That's a rugged trail. It always cracks me up what classifies as XC in BC (not Boogieman, but generally).

Thanks again Lee.
why you do not buy a real northsore bike? funny i got on and dont have northsore
@ CZ - thx I wasn't trying to be flippant but really had no idea what people looked for. They were CK hubs. I'll try to get my hands on the bike for longer to give it a right good rogering

Flystagg and 08s comments cracked me up. No offence to you guys as I'm sure you're really good riders but most people I've taken down Boogieman have really struggled. I'm sure the video makes it look easy but I dont really know that as i've ridden it so much I can't really tell. If steep rock faces; trials moves on skinnies and dorps to falt are your thing then you guys would probably clean it.

Anyhow i really liked the El Guapo on this stuff - it really punched above its weight class IMO.
To clarify earlier remarks, that trail is NOT XC. It's pretty hard core. On the video, Lee has a little piece he calls XC. That move might be easier, the video does make everything look a LOT easier, like all of Lee's stuff. In general, the BC boys have a pretty skewed ratings system where the "Blue XC" trails can be pretty steep and gnarly.

With the stuff they ride, I think they get a little casual with their ratings, like "did a little XC ride today" means took out the "light" 7" bike, no drops over 6 feet. :)
I didn't think that that was lame.

Glad you're enjoying the new bike, man. :)
(2) guys I ride with are on Guapos... you might even say "a Plethora"

"Jefe, what is a plethora?"
I can't view the video (blocked) but I can tell you that the El Guapo has been tempting me on Chainlove constantly for the last few months. With all the hype it's been getting it's been tough not to snatch it up and see if it's as legit as people say. Which shock does yours have? The ones I've seen have RS Peal 3.1s.

Those wheels only come in Crank Brothers hub/rim/nipple interface...they aren't capable of being built any other way.

It has the Fox RP23 XV can
I saw the large demo bike down in the Old Buck lot yesterday. Looks like you were not the only person to grind a few logs with the big ring. The CB Wheels do look rather blingish.

I do not know why every camera angle of every Shore trail I have ever seen makes things look so casual, compared to how they feel when you are on them. Nice riding BTW. Well done on the double rock roll at the bottom of Boogieman.
Nice vid. Like the choice of vintage crockett and tubbs music too. classic.

And after living in the NW for many years, I can say that "XC" up there is many region's freeride.
I checked out the video again, you pulled a lot of that stuff off well, It's just the slow skinnies arn't really my preference, give me fast and rocky with jumps.
