I have an $$$$ wheelset built up..King hubs, ti spokes/mavic 819s. Today i popped a spoke after crashing on the rear wheel so I bent it until it snapped off and finished out my ride. I'm wondering if ti spokes are really flexy and weak or if i would have probably popped a steel one in a crash too. what are yalls experiences?

Quite the opposite. They are generally stiffer, stronger, and require larger amounts of spoke tension. High levels of equal spoke tension is more critical with Ti spokes than a regular steel/stainless spoke. Ti spokes also require a specific anti-seize lub, different than typical/popular spoke thread lubs commonly used in custom wheel building.
