Any advice?
We're in the middle of a wet winter in New Zealand and so what's on the bike - Maxxis Advantages - may not work for Northern California.

I just did the race there last week. The terrain is mostly dry hard pack with a lot of dust on top. There are some big rocks and steps on some of the descents so some volume is a good thing. I ran Michelin XC dry2 front and rear and had no complaints. ymmv
