So bit of a long story, but ill try to keep it short. I went riding today and its only my 3rd time on some Kenda Small Block tires with Kenda tubes. (this is on a 29er) well i was riding some pretty simple trails and out of no where they both go flat. I have no idea what happened so I ended up walking home.:madmax:
When i got home i took the front tire off and started looking for holes in my tubes. i found 2 holes one centered on the top of the tube about 18 inches from the stem and the other almost directly under that hole. ( my best guess is a puncture but it seems weird to happen to both tires?)
so in my effort to look for more evidence of a puncture i flipped the tire inside out. :madman: now my tire sidewall is all messed up. One side is rolledup inwards and the other is rolled up outwards.
I have not removed my rear tire yet.
Does anyone know a way of fixing my sidewalls. getting them to straighten out?
Also does anyone have any guesses on why both tires would go flat like that?

Just a thought. Personally I think you should get a new tire, but of you wanted to try and unroll this one, you could try to put a tube in it, pump it up a bit, unroll a bit, pump a bit, unroll a bit, until the tube is pumped up completely inside the tire, then leave it over night.
If you really want to save it, maybe you can try and flip it inside out again and try to unroll the bead that way and then try flipping it right side out again? But I'm not sure how usable that tire's going to be even after you manage to fix it.
I would send you a folding bead tire for doubting you but I don't ride 29"ers.
I agree with learux. Maybe email Kenda with the picture attached and a plea for help. They may just send you out a new one.
I've seen this happen before on a wire bead tire doing the same thing op did, turning the tire inside out. Does something to the wire in the bead im guessing. was some cheap tire figured cause it was cheap. But since then I have NEVER flipped a tire inside out lol.
If it is a wire bead maybe it has been rolled around one complete turn. Ie you turned it inside out one way and then turned out the right way the same way. Try unwinding it back the other way and see if that fixes it.
Just ran into this yesterday when fixing a flat. It’s because of a flipped wire in the rim. Not even sure how it happened.
After a lot of trial and error I figured this out:
First : Flip the tire inside out
Prop it up with both hands in a vertical position in front of you
Now gently squish the top down to the floor and flatten it (like a squished doughnut) with your foot, like your doing a step by step game of skip rope.
You do this right and you’ll see that flat metal bit flatten back out in that one area. This is what you want.
Now just Keep your foot there on that part of the tire keeping it now in it’s flat shape.
Bring the other foot over now to stand on it with your feet a few inches apart. You should have a length of tire under your feet with the outside of the tire facing the ground now pulled taught in the flat position using your feet while holding the rest of your tire behind you with your hands that is now still inside out. It’ll be like a twisted torus.
Now lengthen the amount you’re stepping (step wider) what you’re looking for is it kinda sorts itself out like the flat wire has now flipped on itself to now be in the right position
Once it does this you can use your hands to unravel the rest of it(which is now behind your legs) and if it worked, it’ll be back into it’s original shape.
Might take a few tries.
Note: I do have a bit of a bend now in the wire because it took a lot of working it out and practice with the same tire. I only now invented this trick. I’m sure it’ll get better with refinement. It got it all straightened in the wheel now though. It rides just fine
Yes was on a new Trek. Guess they are making a come back
