I have one pair each of the following tires-
Maxxis Ignitor
Maxxis Crossmark
Maxxis Advantage
Big 3-day race weekend this weekend with 50% chance of rain each day. In the dry, this place is fast hardpack with rooty sections and sparse rocks with some open field riding. When it rains, the soil has a fair amount of clay in it so can get that 'greasy' top layer that tends to pack tires up and make traction challenging. Im considering running and Ignitor rear with an Advantage front for the weekend since I know the Crossmarks will just squirm in the greasy stuff. I am willing to 'cheve' some knobs so maybe I will open up the pair of Ignitors or the pair of Advantages to lessen pack-up and just run them front and rear but I keep second guessing myself. Other than buying more tires, does anyone have some advice here? Im running tubes in these so tubeless is not an option- Im just trying to make the most out of what I already have. Thanks!
