I got a WTB Weirwolf /comp tire for x-mas .. what does "to fit hook bead rim " mean ?

is that the same as UST ?

"Hook bead" is the same as "clincher bead" these days, there may have been some difference long ago. These are not UST. UST is a tubeless tire bead and rim standard. Although Clincher/Hook Bead tires will work fine using tubes with UST rims.

UST is similar, but different and a specific system for UST tires. http://www.mavic.com/mtb/technologies/UST.1.9405.aspx. WTB doesn't even offer UST tires afaik but not positive.
