Question: do any of the following tires fit into a 2019 yari 27.5+/29er fork?

if you have the following tires, do you have a diameter and what fork are you running? Thanks

xr4 29 x 3.0
dhf / dhr 29 x 3.0
rekon 29 x 2.8
vigilante 29 x 2.8 is 768mm
Purgatory 27.5 x 3.0 is 730mm

2019 yari fork :
measurements put the axle to bottom of the crown at 393mm ish.

393 - (730/2) = 28mm which is about what i get after trimming a 1" spacer to test clearance to the purgatory at full compression.

FWIW:
bikecalc lists a 29 x 3.0 at 774mm in generic terms.

393 - 6mm clearance = 387mm * 2 = 774

so 774 might work on this fork.

Don’t have it anymore so I can’t get you measurements but I have run both a DHRII and a DHF 29 x 3.0” tire in a 27+/29 Yari and they had plenty of room. Here is the only picture I can find.

I bought this Yari in late 2019 so it was probably a 2019 or 2020 model year…not sure if that makes a difference.

I had a 2019 Lyrik that fit 29 x 3" XR4 and DHF -- both on 45mm rims -- with ~5mm clearance.

It wasn't what I'd consider good mud clearance, but it was plenty for most riders/most places.

Of those of you that moved on from this size, what was the reason?
I didn't "move on" from 29 x 3.0" as I still run that size tire as well as 29 x 2.8" & 2.6" heck even 29 x 2.5" on one bike. What tire size will work best for you really depends on how and where you ride. If you are riding soft surfaces, loose gravel/rock, exploring new areas that aren't primarily designed for MTBing a 3.0" tire is hard to beat. If you are smashing berms at a bike park it's not going to make you happy.

I've settled on [all 29er]:
  1. 2.8"-3.0" - for bikepacking and exploring.
  2. 2.6" - for general purpose shredding on my hardtails [Coastal BC techy singletrack].
  3. 2.5" - for my FS bike for the most smashy/aggressive riding I do.
I'm not suggesting these ^^^ are the "right" tire sizes for those activities, but this is what works well for me.
