I got a new race face x-type crankset, and I've heard tips not mentioned in the instructions. Are these legit, and are there any pros/cons?:

-use anti-seize (instead of grease) on the bb shell threads
-use teflon tape on the bb threads
-use loctite on the self-extracting bolt

Anti-seize is always a reasonable idea on BB bearing threads. Often less fussy to install than the teflon tape, although they serve the same purpose.

If you're going to Loctite the crank bolt in place, torque the cranks down till the bolt won't turn and then remove the crank bolt and apply blue Loctite and snug it down. It shouldn't come loose if torqued properly, but Loctite is a good belts and suspenders approach.
