Tips for code rs

2157 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  TheBossOfBread
So my turbo levo came with code rs. Its a prettt powerfuk brake, more than my usual xts. Anyway, brakes seems a little deeper before engaging earlier after doing around 80miles in the last week. Only adjustment is the reach adjust, and there is no way to do a quick race bleeds like the shimanosa and Its not like the rsc has the adjustment for the bite point. So do I have to do a full bleed to get the brakes feeling like before?

Have you checked that the brake pads are not worn and therefore the lever goes deeper?
Remove the pads from the calipers and advance the pistons a bit by pumping the levers. This might be all you need.

If above doesn't work, a lever-only bleed is an option - google "sram code lever-only bleed"

Thanks, probably similar to shimano lever only bleed.

Yes, I will try this.
I come from the Shimano world and I have the first Sram brakes on both bikes.
If bleeding the brakes through the lever side is as easy as in Shimano, I’m happy.

Thanks for the advice.
Another quick question, if i uograde the levers to code rsc will the bite point adjustment work? Or i have to changr the calipers as well? Ty
