This is going to be a noob question, but I'm a noob, so here goes ...

The pivot above the bottom bracket area on my 2008 Element is loose. Is there anything special that I have to do to these pivot bolts to tighten them other than using a hex wrench and going to town? Would I have to pull off the crankset/rings on the drive side to get to the bolt on that side as well? Anyone know off-hand what side hex wrench fits those bolts? I don't have a full gamut of wrenches right now, and I don't have one that fits. Need to know what to buy.

Should be a 6mm allen wrench, and you likely will need to take the cranks off to get at the drive side bolt as well. Be a good opportunity to grease the bolt and washers. Some more info here.

If it's coming loose you should use some blue loctite 422 on it. Don't over tighten the bolt, it should be torqued to 100 inch-pounds (that's only about 8.5 foot pounds of torque).

If you can get it to the dealer you should have all that done under warranty.
