Just kinda floating this out there...

I've shown up to a few of the TNGRs and had a good time.

How about something similar for the other side of the bay?

Any interest in something similar to TNGR, but at JMP? Thursday nights when the sun is still out? Another night? Outside of Midpen's warm embrace, we may have a little more flexibility to go later when the sun starts setting earlier.

I've worked in San Jose for the last five years, so that's made it difficult to get home (Oakland) at a reasonable hour for mountain biking, but that's changing starting in September.

I'm happy to organize the first one -- and bring snacks and beverages. (though not tomorrow night, since I'll be stuck in San Jose late, again).

I might be up for this if I can get the time off work. I'd be coming from the Central Valley (Modesto). Might even be able to bring a coworker or two.

Idea is great and would love to but kiddo evening duties take priority. If you guys get this going, I may be able to join a Thursday from time to time. I'm assuming the plan is up until the time change since JMP is "closed" after sunset.

This ride may be relevant to my interests.

Redwood is open until 10PM.
I could have sworn JMP had signs posted saying it closed at sunset, and the dog park located inside had its own signage saying dusk, which is not the same thing. I went looking for some kind of clarification and found this on the City website, and hey hey, if you download the file it says JMP hours are 6AM-9PM.

[PS There's still one more of the summer musical series at the amphitheatre in JMP on Thursday September 5.]

MTBR member Flatt Pedals, and I are usually up there about 4:20 or 4:30 pm on Tue/Thur. May be too early for most. I gave up on fighting Bay Area traffic at 4pm, and now work 7:30-3pm. Costs me hundreds per month, but its so awesome beating traffic and getting rides in before wife gets home. Im still middle class too! (Barely).

Cool. That seems like enough interest for me to go buy some beer and post something up for next Thursday.

As somanygoodbikes mentioned, Redwood is open until 10 p.m. JMP "is" "closed" "at" "sunset," but we can figure something out.

Thoughts on a start time? Looks like TNGR is rolling out at 5:45 right now. That's on the early side for me until I transfer to Oakland, but it'll work fine next Thursday.

There is plenty of after-hours usage in both JMP and Redwood.

I’m just over the hill in San Ramon but off work at 130 from the Hayward area. I could probably make that ride in the regular and it would be nice to meet some more folks out that way.

Please keep us updated on a start time and let’s make it happen.
