i got a new 594xt as my old thule bike carrier won't fit my new roof rack (different car), and i tried to put the thing together this morning before my ride. 45 minutes later i gave up in disgust. i am not that mechanical but usually have no problems putting stuff together with reasonable instructions..these give you little to no clue how to get the rack together..a few different bolt sizes never mentioned in the instructions, no 'flow' from start to finish, etc...i'm going to take another whack at getting the thing together later today, but just wanted to vent.

is there a youtube video on step by step instructions that make sense? am i really that pathetic, never had a problem with my old thule stuff.....thanks.

I agree with you, I just got this rack and the instructions are a joke.

To anyone who has this rack mine has the ability to slide about an inch left and right up front(i have to push it somewhat hard to make it move), I have the wingnuts tightened as hard as I can and the rubber is in the mounts, any suggestions?
