Just curious to those who have ridden both are thru axle forks that much better? I'm building up a Sinister Gruitr and am at the point of buying a fork and trying to decide if I should go the TA way ...any suggestions?
20mm Thru axle is noticeably stiffer than QR. I got my first 20mm XC fork about 5 years ago and it was night and day. It felt like a mini version of my DH fork. It tracked through rocks and and creek beds with no twisting.
It's a pretty big difference on a QR vs 20mm (haven't tried 15mm). That's not to say I was having any particular issues with QR but if your looking for stiffness and a wheel that goes where you point it then the 20mm is the way to go.
