Um, actually the Ibis is really cool - but if you got a large RFX - ping me.
Thanks, bye!
Thanks, bye!
I need to find a demo to see how the L fits. I will call Turner in the morning to see what up.moosehead said:OK, I'll bite. OP, there a quite a few nice 08 and older RFX's currently listed in MTBR classifieds. FWIW, after seeing your recent Large Mojo purchase and 6'3" height, you may want to check on the XL fit. You also seem to go through too many frame breaks, and an RFX might help with that. Note the 09 DWL RFX is likely not being released until 2010.
If you don't get the hookup, why not try EBrider's L Spot or Morgan's XL Spot? I know they ain't RFXs but they should give you a pretty good idea.iheartbicycles said:I need to find a demo to see how the L fits. I will call Turner in the morning to see what up.
That's kinda sorta what got me into trouble with the Ibis. I test rode one built up for XC, then when and built mine with a 90mil stem and talas 36.Plim said:If you don't get the hookup, why not try EBrider's L Spot or Morgan's XL Spot? ......just kidding
I bought too small of a bike. My bad. The Ibis is actually a great bike. The DW link really appears to be all it's cracked up to be.Jerk_Chicken said:What happened? The serial killer look on that guy's face with his screen name on his shirt turn you off to carbon?
Or was it the SL built with a DH weight shock?
It's ChrismaHanuKwanza, silly.iheartbicycles said:I know, I'm a big sissy.
Happy HanaRamuKwansMas!
It happens. Just put feelers out for someone looking to trade in size. I'm sure in time you can find someone interested in a trade +/- cash, depending on the condition.iheartbicycles said:I bought too small of a bike. My bad. The Ibis is actually a great bike. I think the issue might be that I ran a talas 36 on the Ibis - raising the front end. I ran a 90 mil stem, too. Net, net - the top tube was way too short for my 6'2" frame.
I normally run size large frames - but the way I had the Ibis configured didn't work out.
So - given the chance to re-assess, I am considering a Turner RFX. It has more travel, good angles, is a little heavier and very stout. Not to mention very good customer service. I know the TNT is outmoded - so in a year or two maybe I'll get an aluminum DW bike.
Thanks, I'll check it out now.king2005 said:Hey, just shot you a PM, hit me back when you get a chance
Humor? What humor? I'm dead serious, Mang! Sell me a TURNER!:thumbsup:turnerbikes said:From some of the adolescent level attacks around here even I was getting nervous about checking out the Turner forum. Glad to see some humor, even if it touches a nerve.
You are an Xl, period.

Sunshine does not have any RFX's (I was there last week). Not really a bike they carry, as most around here want a Flux, Sultan, or Spot.iheartbicycles said:Humor? What humor? I'm dead serious, Mang! Sell me a TURNER!
Know anybody with demo's in the San Fran area? Wrench Science has a frame in stock - but no demo. What about Sunshine in Fairfax?
Gratzi.
Thanks! Will call Turner in a bit and see what I can come up with.TLL said:Sunshine does not have any RFX's (I was there last week). Not really a bike they carry, as most around here want a Flux, Sultan, or Spot.
They are listed as a demo center, but I have not seen a Turner demo (a bike that you could actually ride at Tamrancho) there for over a year.
DT, you list Sunshine as a demo center on the website, but I don't think they do demos (on dirt) anymore.
Makes sense. I'll file that tidbit away in case I ever gain the skills for a non-XC bike...iheartbicycles said:That's kinda sorta what got me into trouble with the Ibis. I test rode one built up for XC, then when and built mine with a 90mil stem and talas 36.
I need to find a large RFX that I can pedal aboot, here in the East Bay.
Buuuuuueller?
Thanks Krispy. I saw that. You have hard to beat prices as well. I just need to make sure I get the right size this time around![email protected] said:
