Intergalactic Single Speed Championships: Amante San Rio Version
Intergalactic Pilots, space warriors and other misfits:
I'm pleased to announce that the 2005 Intergalactic Single Speed Championships - the 7th running of this historic event – will commence at 6 pm this Thursday, December 15, at Boulder Cycle Sport - home of Pilot Dubba – located at 4580 Broadway in Boulder, Colorado, planet earth. The event will begin with the Hot Totty prologue at the Amante Coffee Shop, wind through the desolate plains and hillsides of the northern frontier - all along a magical white carpet ride of smooth packed powder under the last full moon of the year. Oh yes! We will zoom our way through the suburban empire, striking fear into the hearts of the souless, before finally making our way to the Spanish outpost of Rio Grande, where we will celebrate the evening away, Moss Isle style, with the help of a few Margaritas. Along the way, there will be many dangers - death from freezing being foremost – and unforeseen challenges, including where to stash your flask while particpating in the derby event. Be prepared for a real singlespeed mountain bike adventure on snowy trails in remote locations. Bring a light that will last at least 2 hours (we should be able to bring crippled crafts in via moonlight and veteran pilot savvy after this point). We suggest mounting fatter tires on your craft to negotiate the snowy, desolate landscape. More dispatches will be announced soon. May the force be with you.
