I will slightly modify this and say any fork with stanchions are worthless noodles.

I used to ride one of these and it had no stanchions, but was still a bit noodly. I didn't think it worthless at the time.

I had one of those on a B4 frame. The entire bike was noodly. I recall reading a magazine review (Mountain Bike Action?) that said it felt like riding a motorcycle. Yeeeeeahhhh, motorcycle.

I think the new Shimano stuff is overhyped. My XTR cassette makes weird noises. My XT shifter is stiff and uncomfortable. My NDS XT crank arm came loose after 7 months of riding. My XT 8120 brakes of the same age also will need a bleed soon (My Codes that are a year older are still going strong).
