Today I rode from my house in Thurston the fun way to Dexter and back. I followed the back roads, there is very little traffic. Weather is great today. No rain and the snow is all gone. The road goes past Mount Zion into the mountains. You can go to Eagles Rest and Mount June this way, nearly car free.

Pics..........

1. Thurston rd near my house. Ride begins.

2. Closed to cars, old logging road.

3. Hobo stoves.

4. Nice boulder, looks like a creature with its mouth open.

5. Feeding the beast.

6. Wallace creek rd.

7. Rail road over pass. Quiet country road.

8. Jasper hills.

9. A park for horses, bikes too but not so fun.

10. The road to Zion.

The ride back home.

The ride home was nice, I ate a bunch of food at the gas station near Dexter. It was nice to have a sunny day for a change. My new bike is a pleasure to ride.

Pics......

1. Mt Zion, 2600 feet.

2. Nice property the whole way.

3. Jasper hills

4. Hill creek near Jasper.

5. Jasper bridge on the middle fork of the Willamette river.

6. Back side of Monkey hill near Thuston.

7. From mountain gate, Pisgah on the left, Spencer Butte on the right.

8. Thuston from mountain gate, a hard climb just for fun.

Nice ride lef-t. That's my old stomping ground. I used to live on Rattlesnake rd, right next to the old store at Lost Creek. I love the MTB ride from Eagle's Rest TH (the lower one) up to the lookout, what a payoff! And one of these days I want to take a cross bike up the fire roads on Mt Zion, there's a pretty cool view of the valley up there. BTW, this is Eli, the ex-PBWOL staff psychologist.
