I will help start the thread....

This picture says it all. The BV "rest stop" has been a sweet addition to the Friday SoMo ride. Props to CactusJoe and Co for always making this one happen.

That crazy guy from Alaska and his girl friend. They were awesome riders from da' nort.

Can't wait. March is too good in Arizona. Spring Fling always brings out way cool people and grat riders.

That Hairball Marg ride was a blast! Graham should be back as well! Yay! This year, I'm hoping to take some days off to enjoy it.

What? Are you afraid of the dark?? :eekster:
Yes, I don't ride at night. You never know if you might get raped or not.

Unfortunately, I only got to go on the Margarita Night Ride at PMP because I had to fly to NY the next day due to a death in the family. I hung with SuLing on the shorter ride to get to Hairball, but it was still pretty gnar. I also remember before that being in the big group and flying down this hill. My light disconnected from the battery about halfway down so I had to just get on the behind of the guy in front of me, use his light to see what was coming, and then react to that like one or two seconds after seeing it. That was scary, but I made it down the most of the hill before finding a place to pull over and reconnect!

This year, I have taken off all of the days and hopefully no one kicks it.......that would be sad (for the funeral) and suck (I love the fling!).

last year was great

I had all four days to ride, took 2 days out of work. Started at Hawes at night, then Tucson, then SoMo, then Sedona, and then BCT.

Has the ride schedule/locations been finalized? I took 3 days off from work to hit up as many rides as possible this year!

So many good memories - great getting together with old friends and finding many new ones - the icing on a rich cake of riding. Good times:thumbsup:

The stand out moments were setting off down Hairball for the first time in the dark:eekster: blasting down the Bugs singletrack, first rides on Holbert and Alta and getting a chance to see the chunkmeisters in action on the good stuff - a real education:cool:

dirtbag finally gets into the slot on the margarita ride

ditbag and DurtGurl gathering the troops for the assault on SoMo

Dan has a little excursion off the edge of Holbert - unscathed!

Some hard climbing on Broken Arrow

Once again thanks to Chad and everyone for stepping up to keep it rolling:cool:

All I have from '08 AZSF is this incredible warm glowy feeling and some discrete moments.

- seeing Bizarro make the staircase on Mila look like a smooth ramp, on the steppy side
- swapping precious fluids with CayoteKis at BV on Somo (hey, LIQUOR people, LIQUOR)
- thinking Sedona was going to be a "back" day, then noticing that I ended up riding with the Evils, Micki, Kenny, Chuey (?), and a couple other very cool people ... *not* a back day at all but crud was it a great day.
- surviving Alta. Just surviving.

I simply can't put how strongly I feel about AZSF into words. The people that have stepped up repeatedly to lead it deserve some kind of medal, or a spa day, or something, from the community. It's just awesome. A piece of me weeps that I can't make it this year, but I will definitely be back, be warned!
