The North Face: BIKES?

I was at a sporting goods store the other day and they had North Face Bikes. ( I know North Face as an outdorr clothing company) Who makes these things. They weren't bad and had decent parts on the models I saw. I thought one looked like an Iron Horse. Any ideas?

I think you would be better off getting a bike at your LBS. I have heard the north face bikes have bad chain lines and the shifting is never right. You'd have no one to help you after you bought it. The components are good but the frames are not so good.
If you got a bike at your LBS you would have a shop to help you after the sale.
The Northface bikes sold are sold exclusively through Galyans stores. The bikes are manufactured by Iron Horse for The Northface and Galyans. Some of the frames are indeed similar to IH frames. There have been no reports of chainline problems on the bikes and the frames are made in the same factory as several 'famous-brand' bikes.

Yeah, the North Face full suspension bikes are rebadged dw-link Iron Horse Hollowpoints with a different component spec. No idea how they rate in terms of value to a regular Hollowpoint, of if Iron Horse's excellent customer service supports these bikes (I'd imagine any warranty or support issues would have to be addressed through Galyans, but it's worth asking the question over on the IH forum).
Thanks guys. I thought it looked like an IH. Anyway Im not interested in buying one just curious as to who makes them. Thanks
I've had great service from the local Galyan's bike techs this past summer. Good work at reasonable prices. As Galyan's buy-out by Dick's is completed over the next few months, it isn't clear if this type of support would continue if you bought a bike from them (Galyan's). It might be worth the risk if the close-out deals were tempting on those North Face bikes. (BTW- Galyan's has also carried Haro, Marin, and Diamondback bikes this year).
