Hy guys!
I'm waiting (how much long in Europe!) for my new Cannondale RUSH 3000 equiped with the Fox Float RP3. But I've just heard about the NEW FOX rear shock, the RP23 and a voice in my head it's saying ":madmax: change it! change it and order the newest RP23! ". Of course another one said me ":nono: leave the original RP3, there are no real differences between them".
What should I do? Have you tried it? Have you heard about it?
Comments are welcome...

P.S.:
I've posted this thread also in suspension section, I hope it doesn't make noise!

I've ridden on both

The RP23 will do a couple things for you. When it is in the open position you will have a plusher suspension than you could have with the the RP3 in the softest mode. In the stiffest setting you will have more platform than the RP3 in the "3" mode. I think the low speed compression damping was improved a little bit as well. In comparable modes "2" on the RP23 vs "3" on the RP3, the new shock seems to be a little smoother on the small sharp edged hits.
I thought that the "1" setting on the RP3 was plenty plush for bombing down descents. I did however, wish for a little stiffer platform on top a few times. The RP23 would deliver there.

The only thing I liked better about for the RP3 on the Rush was that you could also use the "2" setting on the fly. I would often just stay in the "3", but when I would hit a flat section with lots of cobbles or other assorted rocky things, I found the "2" setting was still relatively efficient (much more so than the "1" setting), but soaked up the bumps. On the new RP23 you have to choose your level of propedal when parked, and then you can only adjust on or off.

I think the new one is incrementally better, and you might really appriciate having more platform if you will be racing the bike often. If it is just a trailbike I wouldn't worry about it. The RP3 worked great.

Mhhh... it is what I want to read for!!! ... and more!
I think I have to forget about pro-pedal intermediate positions, enjoying plusher and firmer ones... may be it is better!
Of course, my RUSH 3000 is not for trail purposes (here in Italy it costs 5600Euro, something like 6700$!!! :madmax: ) and so I have to race my bike a lot to justify the money spent!!

I find my rush does not bob at all so I see no need for the RP23 but since Fox no longer do the RP3 yo may as well get whats current.
Ok, I agree... nor mine bob at all, but I experienced noises when moving the lever from one position to another... I have allways to take a look to the lever to see if it is in the right position or not... 'clicks' are not user-friendly at all. The RP23, as regard me, will solve this problem but, on the other side, lets you to choose as 'on-the-fly' settings only the open-close propedal, as you cannot adjust pro-pedal levels while riding...
I have to decide which one is better!

??? Mine does not bob in any setting.
Are you sure your air pressure is correct for your weight. Since you cannot adjust the rebound it may be worth trying heavier viscosity oil like a 7.5W or mix 1:1 5W and 10W to get 6.6W.
This should slow down rebound as well as compression which is effectively what Propedal does.
