For some time ago I read a article in Dirt Magazine written by Jonsey about Sam Hills Sunday, he talked about things like Sam doesn´t use much SAG on his bike and so on.....looked at some pictures of his Sunday it looks like he got like 220mm travel on his Boxxer, when you take a look at the crown placement of his boxxer with the integrated headset it just looks like he got more than 201mm from the dust whipers to the lower crown.

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks

maybe he likes his front end a little higher, so he pulls his lower crown up? So maybe what your thinking is there is alot more than 201mm of stantion, but the travel is still 201mm. remember that forks dont bottom out with the seals hitting the crown.

It is known that Minaar likes a slacker feel on his bike, so he runs his crowns higher than usual.

Also if it had 220mm of travel the stanchions would go through the lowers.....
Very true but if you look at where the rubberband/ziptie is on his stanction it still seems that to that point it has more travel than a stock boxxer.

The thing is that he got next to nothing left over of the stanchions above the upper crown wich you usually have with that fork and that frame, beside that he also runs his headset without the upper "protection ring/cap" wich should add to more space above the upper crown.

Just a thought.

Thanks!
