Oh gawd. I wonder what C-level epiphany happened to decide that was somehow a good idea.

WOW!

Outside politics, I can't recall anyone 'failing up" as many times as this guy has. Just a quick five minute search shows his reputation in the cycling community is toxic and yet people are once again investing in his name and brand.

A quote from RP Designs' Start Engine page:
"We believe our subsidiary, Ellsworth, is a prestigious and respected USA bicycle brand."

Well... good luck with that!

All I remember is the Truth I owned was similar to a beer can. Easy to flex, dent and crush.
as someone out of the loop - can one of you good people give me some context on this?

I won’t speak to his bikes or business practices. But regarding his presence on MTBR…

Think of the worst villain ever on a reality show. For example, Survivor. When he is finally voted off the island, you rejoice. Only to quickly realize it’s not the same without him.

kinda the opposite of this:

Come back Tony!
Another Smellsworth thread?

Really??

let's just say that there are adults alive now (maybe you!) who weren't alive when Tony E first raised hell on mtbr.

Since this is a review site, some past bike companies have soured past customers in one way or another and then they fall, then rise from the ashes, and a lot of those past customers become vocal.
I heard Tony was going to be partnering up with the guys from sick bikes and forming a new manufacturer called SHART.

I'm wondering if he's going to offer these [new}frames with his legendary "Lifetime Warranty"?
You know what they say "theres no such thing as bad publicity its just publicity"!!
