EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION ENDS SOON...
JANUARY 15th is the cut off.
Its going to be a great race with all the snow fall this season.
I'm in, maybe spending $25 will be the inspiration I need to get on the trainer. I'm supposed to be in a hockey tournament that wknd in Port Colborne too, might miss a game for the race, don't have a schedule yet.

2 questions
- any categories planned or is it just 1 winner, bunch of losers? (not that I'm planning on winning anything, was just wondering)
- studded tires - allowed? not allowed? no rules?

TDO, nice blog by the way!

Studded tires are allowed.
will one need to hike a bike on the course? I presume that everyone will be wearing summer cycling shoes?

we plan to groom the course as much as possible leading up to the race.
We're hoping for packed snow conditions for the race but with Southern Ontario weather... anything can happen.

Rubber tire and studded tires are allowed, studded tires are recommended however.

There will be Male/Female award categories and age groups as well.
The entry fee includes a souvenier number plate, post race chili meal at the Funky Monkey Bar & Grill and race toque for the first 50 or so entries.
oh.. and LOTS of prizes from our sponsors.
I'm registered, and looking forward to it.

I'll choose between summer shoes or winter mtb boots based on the conditions.
Oh hell. If Moote's in, I'm in. I'll take any chance I can get to kick that guy's ass. LOL
Just Kidding. I was in even before I knew this. Kicking his ass will just be a little bonus like finding a 20 in that pair of pants you haven't worn in a year. :)
I think we can probably get people to put money on the matchup between you and I, Dan :p
So far I am the only woman signed up - I need some competition ladies!!! Come out and have some fun in the snow!! It will be a great time!

In!

I'm really looking forward to this. I'll do almost anything if there's chili involved! :D
I registered last week. Can't wait, it should be so much fun. Dakin vs Moote should be an interesting match however I am planning to kick both of your asses. I will be racing my worn off Captain tire because I don't own studded tires. See you all there so we can discover as a group how out of shape we are.
Our boys own winter weekends for hockey, so my only participation will be result checking, and perhaps wagering.

Whoohoo!!
I'm in

HEY MOOTE - I'm officially registered buddy. Be afraid. Muwahahahaah
I think i'll give it a shot, sounds like a fun race. So what I get my the site is that the race could be either 2 laps of 10K(20k total) or 2 laps of 20k(40k total)?

It all depends on the conditions we have on raceday.
Right now the course has quite a bit of snow on it and we have been snowshoeing, hiking and skiing on it but predictions have it we are suppose to get a thaw by the end of the week. We have a grooming plan but we have to wait to see what happens with the weather.

With ideal weather conditions plan on a 10km to 13km lap lap of mostly single track and some double track.
You have two attempts at it, your best lap time stands as your result.
