Just saw this this.

"The U.S. Forest Service has closed 283 acres of federal lands in the Magnolia area of Boulder County while efforts to reduce wildfire fuels are underway there.

The closed area is roughly located east of the Peak to Peak Highway and north of Magnolia Road, according to a news release.

All access points to the area originating off the Peak to Peak, Magnolia Road and adjacent private and public lands will also be closed, but Magnolia Road and Forest Service Roads 552 and 958 will remain open to through traffic during the work, according to the release.

The closure order, which will remain in effect through June 30, is meant to ensure public safety while crews perform cutting and hauling activities for a project designed to reduce hazardous fuels that contribute to wildfires, according to the forest service."

when does the snow usually melt out and the trails become ride-able up there? At least they aren't closed all summer.

got a foot of snow yesterday so everything is covered again and any north facing trail in the trees is still under 2 or 3 feet of packed snow, closure signs are now in place but no work has started yet. The area is going to be clearcut so I wouldn't count on any trails being open this summer, the contractors have an entire year to complete the work.
