A ride today with wife and friends in Loveland, CO

Met for the first time: The Squeeky Wheel, Darren from Push, and El Beastro. Also met an mtbr lurker in the parking lot who knows DSR. It was his first time on the bone. I didn't get a chance to ride with these folks though.

Then after, I poured some cash into Mountain High Cyclery and took away some of his closeout goodies for my Burner build.

Great shots. From the subject line, I had to wonder.... which Devil's Backbone? I mean, I can think of two in Tejas. I think there was one in Washington. So, without geting into "my Devil's Backbone can beat up your Devil's Backbone" sort of debates, how many of them are there out there?...

And although neither of us realized at the time, you also passed by Steve71 and his wife. I was on a blue Turner and Mrs. 71 was on the pink Titus. We must have been following you around all day because we also bumped into Squeaky Wheel (recognized his bike) and Darren as well doing some shopping at MHC.

The connector between Hall and Heil is a done deal? I had heard rumblings they were thinking about it, but I didn't know it was already in the works.

From the BOA newsletter:

• 3) Heil/Hall Connections Update
• Boulder County is beginning work on connections of Hall Ranch and Heil Ranch to Lyons. Someday we should be able to ride our bikes on trails between the two parks.
• BCPOS held a public meeting in Lyons on March 15. We had an excellent turnout of concerned mountain bikers. We are happy to report that the team of County employees assigned to this project, as well as the Lyons Parks and Recreation Director are very aware of our needs and seem genuinely eager to accommodate. There will be another meeting in July to present alternatives to the public and get their input.
• Construction for the Hall to Lyons connection will happen first, then the Heil to Lyons connection will follow. The likely start of construction for the Hall work should be next year.

I think that rides are necessary when visiting the family...one cannot handle family 24-7. I use my get-out-and-ride card a lot when down in Albuquerque.
