The Best Vittoria Tires

Vittoria is one of the world's leading manufacturers of bicycle tires. The company itself produces more than 7 million tires and 900,000 high-performance tubular and cotton tires per year! As of 2015, Vittoria ditched the GEAX name for its mountain bike tire line and united the full brand under the Vittoria name. As a partner with some of the most successful professional teams-both mountain and road-Vittoria has direct feedback from the best racers in the world for product development.

Combining both road and mountain, more than 30 professional teams rely on Vittoria tires every year, and the honors list is none other than jaw-dropping: 41 wins in the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, the Vuelta, Milano-Sanremo, Paris-Roubaix and 81 Olympic medals, 32 of which won gold. So what makes these tires so sought after?

Vittoria 4C Compound and Graphene 2.0

In 2016, Vittoria introduced its 4C Compound, the result of a proprietary rubberizing process that enables four different compounds in the same tire. This layering process adds versatility, allowing Vittoria to tune tread flex, rebound, and base stability. A soft top layer durometer provides grip and support in the corners, while a stiff base compound improves durability and braking traction. Two years later, Vittoria updated its Graphene Compound and released Graphene 2.0 (G 2.0), taking the original Graphene compound foundation that Vittoria built and functionalized the advancements in performance specific application. The first generation of graphene compounds raised the bar for Vittoria. Graphene 2.0 pinpoints each performance metric desired and increased it. Vittoria feels it is now able to apply Graphene to help increase tire speed, wet weather grip, durability, and puncture resistance. Vittoria owns the only extruder in the world that allows for 4 compounds in a single tread, which is then fortified with Graphene 2.0. This allows Vittoria to fine-tune the flex of the tread-base and tread-surface separately, placing the correct durometer Graphene 2.0 compound exactly where it is needed for maximum cornering, climbing, rolling, and braking performance. Additionally, durability and puncture protection is also improved, as the base compound resists punctures and provides a more stable base for the tread.
