Why would I post a pic of the US Open? Because this is the view from the mountain bike trail in the Brickyard at Bethpage. I had to stop for a few pictures on today's ride.

HA!
I didn't ride there last week because I wasn't sure if there was access.
Nice shot.

With all the rain, the trails at Bethpage are so overgrown, it's hard to get through in some places. I'll go to Stillwell tomorrow.

Nice shot!

Over a decade ago they wanted to bulldoze the woods at Bethpage to make another golf course but the hikers and mountain bikers mobilized a series of protests and saved the woods.

Now there's about 15 miles of trails in there that also connect to the singletrack along the greenbelt trail, which goes north about 9miles to connect to Stillwell with an additional 6 mile loop.

You can get a good half a day riding the various loops and off shoots.

I'm headed out to Calverton today. That should be super-tight, you think?
