Everytime I go there I wonder why I don't go more often.

Bring cash.

Ride as much as you can up there. Seems there were some good routes posted a while back.

Anthony,

You will see fewer people in the north side of the park.

Here is one of my favorites:
Park at the lower lot on Shoreline Drive ($6). Climb the towers road to Westridge. Take Westridge to Wathen. Wathen to Spring Creek to Herrington to Stout. Folllow Stout all the way back down to the Towers Road and continue across Towers on Stout to Sawmill. Climb Sawmill to Loggers and go north to Carey Springs. Climb Carey to the road and go right up the road to Mill Creek. Take Mill Creek into Lory State Park (reciprocal pass agreement). Ride the valley trail to the south back to your truck.

Would love to join you, but don't know if I can get away. What time are you going to ride? How long do you plan to ride?

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........

keep it secret & quiet.

Amazing terrain & still snow free. At least it was on Sunday.
You'll need $6 for a parking pass.

Lots of great loops. Let us know how long you want to be out & what kind of terrain you're looking for and we can be of more service.

It's to the north...about 4 miles as the Crow flies from the Horestooth Parking lots but about 12 miles around the reservoir - hang a left at the road right after descending the North Dam - up the hill a mile - Lory State Park is on the left.

If you are coming from the south, Horsetooth is probably your best bet. Add 20 minutes driving time to get to Lory by the time you get into the lot (which is another few miles of driving in depending where you park.)

I'm kontemplating going there on Thanksgiving day, as I've heard nothing but glowing reports, and it appears to be snow-free for the moment. (and I've got exactly nothing else to do that day...)

Routes, advice, companionship?
OK, it's on. I'm gonna go there strategically early. Early enough to get done by a decent hour, but not so early that useless clothing would need to be worn for the first part of the ride. That seems like 9:30 to me.

I shall bring a variety of frothy post ride beverages.

Anothony Which parking Lot would you be planning on using ? I be over in Fort Colins for the Thanksgiving. Should be good to ride to about 2pm.
Looking forward to meeting you. The last time you were in Fruita I did't even now it but we just missed in OTE. I was heading out with Leel and Sharon. I drop you a PM with contact info.

Go to Lory State Park

$5 and I hear they have a killer new trail called Timber Trail. If that's not enough, you can still go to Horsetooth.
Hey Greg. I may hit Timber tomorrow to check it out. Is it better in one direction than the other?
