I am most likely leaving CO Springs and going to Golden, are there any areas like Palmer Park near Golden?

I dunno... I rode it on a Friday after work a few weeks back (along with Chimney Gulch) and there were basically no people on either trail...
Ride various loops over and Up mt. falcon, down and over to Green Mountain and over top then up zorro to dinasour ridge to red rocks back over to Apex up chimney etc. Then if you are feeling froggy head over to White Ranch to finish off. (Saves the most technical [Apex and White] for last 20~30 miles or so.)
I'd say White Ranch Longs Trails is quite technical! I'd hit that up for sure! I need to go check out CS some time soon.
I only rode golden gate once, what are the tech trails in there? I have no problems paying a few dollars if I can avoid the hordes of people on weekends.

Depending on your definition of "hordes" you may not be able to avoid them at GG on a weekend. :D

The stuff on the north side tends to be the more technical stuff from what I remember (e.g. Mountain Lion?).

Golden Gate Canyon is your ticket
+1 on that.
I think Dakota ridge is super tech, I still have not gotten all of the logs at once.
I don't think you'll find anything quite like Palmer, but, Dakota Ridge, Morrison Slab, Apex, Enchanted Forest, White Ranch, Hall Ranch (in Lyons) offer good tech. The hills around Ned/Jamestown offer good tech, too, but it's all a little different.

I think Palmer is fun and Hall is great for tech. What is Morrison slab?

It's that bonus section of trail that climbs from mathews/winters trail, whatever it's called, up to the plateau, and comes back down further down the trail.
