Big props to Ventana for coming through yet again by sponsoring Team Go-Ride for 2007!
There were a handfull of the new geometry Cuervos around in 2006, but here's the lowdown on the 2007model.

Biggest change is the lower BB height. Sherwood achieved this by lowering the BB shell in the frame and leaving the pivot and the rest of the moving parts at the original height. This keeps the original strike angle of the rear wheel, and makes the bike accelerate better. Sherwood was very concerned about effectively raising the pivot in relation to the BB but after he cut off the BB of a couple of our team bikes for us and lowered them we discovered that the pivot is now in line with a 40t ring which offers some better acceleration and still no noticeable feedback at the pedals. We convinced him that a hair of chain torque is a good thing when trying to get a 40lb bike up to speed to clear a jump! Since practically everyone runs between a 36 and a 40 this was the right choice.

The swingarm yokes are thicker than ever to reduce flex and improve long term durability in this critical area.

The head angle is relaxed one more degree to improve high speed performance for really fast riders.

The chrome Powdercoat may look a little different to some, but the "not black" DH frame is a relief to my eyes. Hopefully through the different angles you can get a good perspective of how it really looks. In other words in person it is absolutely awesome!

Also notice that the large now has the same seat tube height as the medium. It looks cleaner and allows the seat to be lowered more. Nearly every person that had an old large wanted it lower.

Andrew Pierce and the crew had them the last half of the summer-Andrew won a couple Jr X races, and made the top 20 in the Pro class after Jr worlds qualis were over, and got 10th at worlds with a broken cable forcing the chain into the 11t cog for 3/4 of the course.

So yeah we're liking them!

As Andrew-an 18 year old pro- would say "it's a lot easier to go fast on". That's about all we get out of him. Damn kids.

So this one is up to your standards, huh?
Heck yes!
A tiny bit of chain tourque in the gear most commonly used.:D

Natrually with an XC bike there are different chainring sizes, rider layouts, etc. The pivot needs to below enough to be able to cope with lots of variances. In DH there are just less variances in that respect so Sherwood felt more comfortable with the pivot being in such a location as to offer a tiny bit of chain torque with a 38t ring. DH bikes are slow and heavy. The 2007 Cuervo feels a little more snappy now!

Heck, just do a Stan's conversion with some regular Kenda Karmas, run some Velocity VXC rims (DT 4.1s are just too much) and you will be set!!

Well, don't forget carbon flat bars- white ones, if possible:)

could easily get to 30 lbs with some 1.9 tires!
Throw a gravity dropper on there (chromed, of course) , too! BTW, how's the Turner working out? I haven't ventured into the Turner forum in a while.

Those are gourgeous frames. A trip to Whistler would be an absolute blast on one of those.

Krispy, thats a super nice bike, The Down Tube is MASSIVE!!!. I'm enjoying the 05' cuervo big time.

?Are there any disadvantages with running a 64 degree HA vs. 65 deg HA?

Mine has a small thump or play in the linkages, i cant really tell where it is, but i can feel it. almost as if it were loose.

Cheers!
