a) I took a Tallboy for a demo for a whole day but had frequent pedal strikes on semi rocky single track (not riding technique). Is this common with the Tallboy's low BB? Sag was adjusted at ~ 25%.

Do you encounter more pedal strikes than normal, too?

b) I had plans to put a LEFTY fork on this but have second thoughts as the Axle to Crown height on the LEFTY is approx 15 mm lower than standard Fox or RS 29'er forks, which would lower the BB even further (together with the extra plushness / sag of the LEFTY). Maybe I should stay with the 'normal' fork?

Appreciate your thoughts.

Yep your going to get more peddle strikes on a TB. I have a Mojo SL and it also has a low BB but you learn to adjust your cadence. It is very subtle and becomes intuitive. Get the TB with a 120 mm fox up front and you will be smiling the whole time.

Just for a reference, what is the BB ht. when you're just sitting on the bike with correct sag?
(you are considering this "low" while maybe other people do not, or have worked around it)

Thanks,
