Has anyone tried a talas rear shock on the 5 spot? I just got a five spot frame with a Romic and I am considering putting on the talas shock from my old frame. I weigh 185lbs. What is the the right spring for my weight with the romic? It came with a 600lbx2.25.

The 600 Romic spring should be ok for you for you for a bit of heavy-duty riding including some drops, or you may want to go down to 550 for more xc riding and a bit plusher feel. Start with the 600 and see how it feels.

I personally never cared for the ride of the Talas rear shocks. Slap it on there and report back on what you think compared to the Romic. The 5-Spot takes a 7.5" eye to eye shock with a 2.0" stroke. Is that what the Talas is? I always thought they were longer...
