Ok...going to Tahoe (Tahoe Vista/Kings Beach area) next week...have babysitter so I am going to hit the trails. This will probably be my only mtn biking trip to Tahoe before heading back up north. May fit in 2-3 rides (can't disappear completely). Gave birth 5 months ago so a little rusty on the technical stuff, though I am riding all the single track I can scrape up in the Martinez area. So, not thinking downhill run.

So, what would you recommend for two rides in north Lake Tahoe area, intermediate level?

Thanks.

Spooner to Kingsbury round trip

Most high elevation trails are still closed. But the TRT site says Spooner to Kingsbury is open with a few snow drifts. This is a spectacular out and back ride of about 25 miles. Many photos and videos on my site. I'm going July 1st

It appears the Flume is open. Not a very difficult trail but the most spectacular scenery there is.

And the ride these guys did last week looks good. But they are more than intermediate level riders.

For a short sweet ride go to the TRT trailhead on the south side of Brockway Summit on HWY 267. Ride the fire road east past the TRT trailhead. The road is flat for a few miles and then climbs for a few miles. Make the first left on FS road 16n33 and go about a mile until you see the TRT crossing. Turn left on the TRT and it is mostly downhill all the way back to the trailhead. The whole ride is about 8 miles. Riding up the TRT from the trailhead is ridable but pretty tough.

I was just there this weekend. we stayed in Carnelian Bay, pretty much where you are. at the top of old county road there is a forest road 16n43?? or 47 climb that it eventually hits fibreboard freeway but we turned left on the rim trail and climbed to watson lake. there we basically turned left and rode into the area behind dollar hill and the high school. very sweet tacky and flowing singletrack from like 7500 feet to lake level. about 12-15 miles? stop by a shop and pick up a trail map. there are trails into every neighborhood pretty much. the rim trail is nice and not technical at all. the trails branching off get a little steep. HAVE FUN!!! here's a pic of watson lake
