Tahoe is still snowbound. Nevada City (on the way to sac from tahoe) is snow free right now. lots of good xc singletrack riding. Auburn is on the route too. Auburn has more free-ride stuff but the nevada city area is epic. If youre on a big bike definitely auburn.
