Excellent!

Nice to see you riding again, and doing so well in your riding. We've all been hoping for your speedy return to biking.

I enjoy seeing your posts and pictures again.

I was just up in Tahoe. Next time I'll remember that stretch which looks to be a scenic and less difficult route. Did you leave a car for the shuttle?

Thanks for sharing.
I haven't been there in at least 4 years. Welcome back and thanks for the reminder.

Even better

It's even better than you remember! Larry, we did a self-shuttle and left a car at Spooner Lake before heading to Tahoe Meadows.
Awesome pics! Makes me want to get up there too. Anyone doing some rides up there from Wednesday on next week (7/14-16) that wouldn't mind some company tagging along? Have'nt ridden there yet but would like to go with someone familiar with the trails. Apologies for the hijack.....

Great pix and RR, Wherewolf.

rwdbkr, I will be riding TRT-Flume-Spooner next Wednesday (7/14). I have never ridden up there as this is my first trip up to Tahoe, so I am definitely not familiar with the trails (just from youtube, ride reports, etc.). I am planning on taking the shuttle from Spooner at 9:3am that takes you out to Mt. Rose. Let me know.
Great news. I still haven't ridden this trail. Looks so nice though

No, lost again :D
Why wait until fall next? Saturday looks good for Spooner to Kingsbury round trip.

No, only been five working days since I saw the doc. I'm hopping not to hear for a few weeks so my biking isn't spoiled for the summer.

since you seem to be feeling decent these days from what i saw and from what you did at tahoe, can't you wait a month or two and keep riding or do they want you to get it done asap?
Don't know

Don't know, I'll ask when they call to schedule. I presume it would be up to me. They only do them one day a month so I've probably already missed for July.
Wow Steve, I'm impressed. Sometime this summer I'd like to do that ride... possibly in August...
bill (and j-c) and steve, how about august 7??? i'm on vaca starting the following weekend for the rest of august....
Longer

I hope to be on to something bigger by then, perhaps the 40 miler, Mt. Rose to BurgerKingsbury :)
Can't start from Tahoe Meadows on an odd day. I'm game for an August 6th or 8th ride. The sooner the better in case the doc wants to get moving. Pencil me in.
Nice Steve!

So is the device gonna be implanted in your back, if so that will probably put you out of commission for awhile, you certainly don't want to take a fall and land on it for a good while, maybe put it off till fall if the pain is not to intense right now.

Good to see your back
Abdomen

They consult with you where to put it, but it seems most are put kind of in the side/abdomen. Very restricted activity for 4 - 6 weeks to allow scar tissue to fix the wires in place. While wearing the temporary unit you are supposed to turn it off before any major "positional changes" or you get a bit of a shock from the wires shifting. Even a good cough gave me a bit of a shock, and I got them on every bump while biking with it. So I'm trying to bike as much as possible before it goes in.

I'm going to foolishly try Spooner to Kingsbury roundtrip this Saturday. I know I'll walk a lot of that five mile climb at the start! I am working up to hopefully do Mt. Rose to Burger- Kingsbury before I have to take the break.
i would not mind meeting up with people in tahoe! that would be so cool
