I don't see these trails mentioned very often, but I decided to check things out on my way back from Wenatchee. I was intending to do the Table Mountain ride from Zilly's book, but due to a bit of map reading carelessness I ended up riding the Naneum Creek trail up to Haney Meadows and taking the road up to catch the single descent (trail 1389) from the Table Mountain ride. More road riding than I would have preferred, but that was my fault.
Fun riding, beautiful scenery, and more mosquitos than I have ever seen in my life. One note, there is a lot of downed trees on the descent.

That area is pretty rocky, a lot of horse and jeeper use and seems to be about the dustiest place on earth in the summer. So, not a lot of riding going on up there when there are better trails around for the limited trail time available.

Wait until after the first frost in September so the bugs will be dead.

Funny, I was up there yesterday riding the exact same trails. I was debating riding the road 3530 to 3500 and then hitting hte downhill 1389 like you did, but instead I just rode around Naneum creek at the bottom for the most part. I thought there were some really cool sections of nice smooth track punctuated by ridiculous rocks and tons of horse poo. Overall, it wasn't really worth the effort or the drive in my opinion, Taneum Jct. is alot closer for me.

Clutchman, drive yourself farther up the 3000 road past Taneum to the Shoestring trailhead and do the Shoestring Lake/S. Fk Manastash to Hereford Meadows and back down to Keenan Meadow upside down lollipop loop.

You can thank me later...

Dude, I hit that trail about two weeks ago... it was sick. Loved it, rode the short loop at the bottom a couple times last week too. Fantastic trail, just watch out for the skeeters! Holy crap! They motivated me to stay on the bike during some of the steep climbs, but taking in a lungful of those tiny vampires sucks for an aerobic workout. I'd highly advise bugspray for those who dare attempt this in the spring/summer.
