SXT with DHX 5.0 air ?

Does anyone run an sxt with the DHX 5.0 air? I've never had a dhx air, just the fox float on my kona dawg and I wasn't impressed. I've also had a DHX 5.0 coil on my ECD and I loved it. So, I am a bit cautious about getting the sxt with the dhx air on it due to prior grievances.

I would like to get some opinions of what the sxt is like with the air on it. I plan on hitting up downhill trails in Scotland and I will be going to France in the Summer. Will it be able to handle places like Innerleithan and constant use in France?

The bike (2007 model) is also set up with one ring and I was wondering what the SXT will be like for pedalling up and along trails with this setup? I won't be using any uplift services (except in France) and plan on earning my way to the top.

I either have the option of getting the 2007 with the DHX air, rockshox domain forks, saints, e13 etc, or saving up a bit more money, with the hopes of being able to get a 2008 sxt; which will obviously have lower quality parts on, but will come with a dual ring set up and dhx 4.0 coil.

I loved my ECD, but it was frustrating getting it to the top. I have my heart set on an sxt, yet, I won't be able to afford a 2009 model as I am short on cash. So it is crunch time for me, as I fear that the sxts' will get snapped up sharpish and I will be left with having to get something that I don't really want: so I'm asking you guys for some help!

Make sure your getting the proper frame/bike.

Usually identify The air spring sxt as the 4x bike with less travel.

A rugged and purpose-built variation on the classic All Mountain design, the Enduro SX is nimble & quick with 4.2" (about 106mm) of rear wheel travel. Perfect for busting out of slalom gates.

Otherwise why? I would not want to use a dhxair. You already know how the performance of the DHX coil is superior.

Well it's not the enduro frame, it is the sxt painted 'armadillo'. I've been told that the bike came with the dhx air on it, which is strange as I haven't seen any others like this.

Good deal it is the longer travel sxt.

Yes I havent seen em spec'd with the dhx air either.

I also never seen any 07 model is that color.

Cool bike
Aye it is good, but I am worried about the air being sh*t.

easy fix, get a coil and sell the dhx
you wont be climbing very far with the 1 ring up front either, i know i wouldnt be if i had only one ring on mine, you could but youd be killing yourself, and for what?

I switched to a 32T on mine for climbing. Nowhere near ideal, mind you, but it works. Now that I have a dedicated downhill bike my next move is to swap the SXT for an all-mountain bike.

And for the record, the SXT never came with a DHX 5.0 air from Specialized, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if someone at a bike shop somewhere swapped the DHX coil for a DHX air before they sold it. I've seen bike shops do weirder things.
Considering all of the Enduro owners are ditching their DHX airs for coil shocks I wouldn't do it. I tossed my DHX air for a RP23 and couldn't be happier.
