Switched to X-type BB/crank.... Chainline issue.
After 8.5 years mounted in my old bike the cartridge octalink BB finally gave out. After a half day of working on it, I finally got it out (thanks to all the tips and advice I gleaned from a search here) but my chainline is off a bit after mounting the new outboard bearings.

Do I just readjust my front derailleur and move it out a bit or do I have to mess with the BB spacers? Shimano and the Park Tools website recommended one 2.5mm spacer on the drive side and none on the left for this crank/bb with my FD.

External BB cranksets generally have a 3mm greater chainline than older internal BB cranksets, so you will need to readjust your front derailleur.
Thanks. That's what I figured, but wanted to make sure before I started messing around with stuff.
