Anyone have experience setting up a Mantitou Swinger 3 way on a Fisher Sugar Plus?

Just picked one up off of ebay and looking to get some advice. I am an xc rider about 190 all said and done.

So far I am running about 130# in the main and 110 in the SPV. I seem to be getting only 1/2 travel but much less air seemed really soft. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I think manitou recommends setting the spv at 150psi, then setting the sag in the main spring. For me at 225#, I run 190psi main and 140 or so in the spv. The spv doesnt seem to be very accurate, so I pump it up to 150 and then unscrew the pump. Next time I screw it on its around 90psi. Maybe my pump is letting air out, dont know, but I set it about once every 2 weeks. Try 150 spv, then set your sag with the o ring. My guess is you will probably need 170 main.

Manitou recommends to start with 50psi in the SPV, then setting main spring. I think 150 is out of spec and would feel veery harsh. Download the service manual from the answer web site and confirm. The spv chamber is very little, so shock pump accuracy/ functionality is crucial on them. I had the same problem when unscrewing the pump, it would let air out even just a tad, and screw the psi on the spv. One technique I've found to be working is letting the pump shaft all the way in and holding it while unscrewing, this mantains presssure on the pump and hose, apparently, letting the SPV hold i'ts share.

Yep, I goofed it, its 50 psi, which is the minimum spv pressure. They recommend 50-70% of your bodyweight, which translates to 150psi for me. For a 200# rider you should try 140psi for normal XC. I figure after my pump registers 150 it then dumps 30 psi, so i'm probably actually running 120.

Its not harsh at all around that level. The max SPV PSI is 175 according to the manual. I should probably note my burner is only a sub 4" travel, so for a longer travel swinger settings will vary.
