I'm wanting to try a shorter stem on my Spark. I remember something in the brochure or catalogue about an "integrated" stem. It doesn't seem very different from any other stem/steer tube interface, except for the odd ramps on the back of the spacers and upper bearing cup.
I'm guessing you can't put a different brand of stem on the bike unless it's got the matching angle to nest into the spacers. Most stems have an angle of sorts near the pinch bolts, but I'm sure they won't have the correct angle.
Another Syncros stem would plug right in, but I can't find any. I'm tempted to just shave the ramp off a spacer to accomodate a regular stem, but for resale purposes I don't really want to bugger it up, since I did a web search and can't find more of those spacers.
I'd like to just get another stem without having to get a new bearing cup and spacers. Anybody come across this before that could share their workaround?
