I am new to this group and have found a lot of good information here.

Currently riding a couple single speeds I bought this fall A Haro x24 Backtrail and a Specialized P.1 2006 with the 24" back wheel. Mostly ride in the city and along railroad tracks. Do a lot of curb bashing. Being only 5'4" with 29" inseam,130 lbs, I find compact frame/sloping top tube bikes with 26 " or 7OO cm wheels have a problem with toe overlap. On the x24 and P.1 I don't have this problem and they fit me far better overall.

The P.1 will be used for the trails and dirt/gravel/sand hills. The x24 is now my street/commuter/urban assault bike. I am 55 and ride alot and have arthritis in my neck and back and the suspension fork on the P.1 really helps tremendously.

I wonder if there is a suspension fork I could get for the x24. I want only the minimum of travel as I want to maintain the quickness of handling and sturdiness. Weight is not really important to me. I don't do any tricks yet but that is not a goal. I just need a softer ride as I keep the K-Rad tires at 55 psi front and 60 to 65 rear for speed on the roads. I would like to go with a medium priced suspension. Can anyone help me out here?

The frame isnt designed to handle any kind of suspension. You're better off with out it. It probably would also void your warranty.

You'll probably end up making the bike handle pretty whacky. Hate to say it, but unless you find a fork that has like 40mm of travel or less, with a very low a2c height, there isn't much you can do suspension wise.
That wouldn't be good. I was hoping there would be a short travel fork. As I am new to this-BMX cruisers, I thought it was worth checking out anyways.

You might look into the 24'' mtb offerings which are designed around suspension forks, but can still accept BMX parts. A Tonic Fab Fall Guy or a Nemesis Project Deathmobile come to mind.
thanks for that information snaky69:thumbsup: I gave up on finding a quality 24" mtb. It may be year or two down the road-or trail- but I could see building one up. Not that I could ever do it justice though.
