ermm, at 250 you weren't impressed with the maverick's stiffness, but you're looking into a shiver SC??
around here shivers were widely regarded as "light-duty" only due to their lack of stiffness...
but with 5" you should be more than fine dropping it to 4" and still having enough room over a 3" tire, but it'd have to drop to 3" or so to get over an endo without you... umm... endo-ing!

First the good, I`ve had and ridden one in 26" form with no probs and I`m 260lbs.
You will need to reduce the travel with the Maverick Spacer kit, but this is easy to do and will leave you with approx 115mm travel.
Now the bad..... You can run an endo on a DUC 32 BUT you will have to use a narrower rim than the Large Marge (65mm).
The reason for this is due to the inverted `baseball bat` shape of the upper portion of the DUC`s legs,whereas the SC32s are straight.
Endos on LM rims measure approx 92mm (YMMV) and the clearence in the upper portion of the DUC is approx 94mm (just measured in my garage). :eekster:
Any tyre or rim wobble or both and you are going to get rub.
You could probably get away with a smaller (say 50mm) rim with an Endo, but I would wait to see if anyone has figures for this combos width before commiting.
I know Tscheesy ran a DUC on one of his `Snaux` frankenbikes, but I think the issues were the same.

Shiver works for me with the Gazzi and Remolinos but NOT with the Endomorphs

Greg mentioned that the Echo trials rim would be a good choice because they can take a lot of abuse and they are 46mm wide. My concern with these rims are the double-walled design with the holes drilled out could trap a lot of debris in between the walls. Has anyone used these rims before or heard anything about them?
