Does anybody have any idea how Surly's track hub (120mm spacing) would survive in an off-road application? I tried e-mailing (twice) Surly directly using the contact link on their website but no reply. I have an older steel frame that I could cold-set but I'd really rather not go that route. It's 120mm spacing which is why I'm asking.

Beat them up. They will be fine. They are identical to 135mm mountain hubs, same bearings, 10mm axle, bolts, and flanges. They are just narrower.
