I picked up a set of Suntour MD8s laced to Araya rims. I finally go the PowerFlo cassette off using a lot of penetrating oil and elbow grease. Are there any Shimano-compatible cassettes I can put on these wheels? Can the freehub body be replaced? This one is threaded on the end because the 2 smallest cos thread onto it to lock down the cassette.

You won't be able to replace it with a Shimano freehub body, but you can use a 7 or 8 speed Suntour cassette with a Shimano drivetrain. The floating pulley on Shimano derailleurs makes it pretty easy to set up so that it shifts well.
