Hi guys!

Just wondered what you think of the Sun U.F.O rim. It's really light, but how is it when it comes to durability and stiffness, compared to f.ex. the mavic 717???

stiffness of a wheel has practically nothing to do with the rim. A pound of difference in the tire pressure is more noticeable than a different rim.

I don't think he meant the the rim would ride stiffer I think he meant will the rim be more flexy.

sun ufo are too thin in my opinion, not very suitable with big tires..

its actually not THAT light.
SUN lists the rim as 390g, but weights vary anywhere from 388-440, which isnt too impressive.
a 14% variation in weight isnt too great.

All four of the UFO's I have built have been right around 350 grams.

... you're thinking of the OEM UFOs at Jenson usa for $10. Those are not the real UFOs. Those are 440g. Still, it's a great deal on not terribly light rims for the beater or commuter bike.
