how big of a differenct are we talking strengthwise? is it only a width difference?

im 6'4 225# and ride 'aggressive' trails. i was set on rhynolite XLs, but pricepoint has regulars w/ XT hubs for $139. sounds like a good deal..

There is little bit of difference in width, yes. There is also the joint that is welded instead of pinned, a little stronger. And I'm not sure if you have the machined brake surface on the regular, but you have it on the XL. This is the rim I was using on my trials bike rear wheel, and I liked it, survived a lot of bashing (the polished one looks gorgeous IMO). I'm 5'10 170lbs though.

You might wanna stick with the XLs.

Hope this helps,

^^ that, my friend, sounds like a deal. i just sent a PM, thanks.
