Has anyone ridden sullivan canyon (Santa Monica) lately? curious to know what the conditions are after the rains.

I rode up Sullivan Cyn last night. Other than being completely graded, conditions are great. A couple very small streams crossing, otherwise quite dry.

Thanks Vancemac. Generally the terrain drys quickly there so I'm glad to hear that. I'm hoping i can head that route over the weekend if it clears up.

How's this trail fairing with all the rain?

It will be screwed up with ruts and stuff pretty soon. And when I say screwed up I mean much better

Riding in this weather is okay with others and isn't looked down upon then? I'm new to the area and don't want to be a troublemaker.

if you rode one of the narrow steep trails or the man made stuff and tore them up it would be frowned on

i dont see anything wrong with riding fire roads like sullivan canyon though (my opinion)

Aside from being a complete muddy nightmare, staying on fireroads after a rain isn't a big deal IMO. After today and last night though, the canyon is likely to be a steady stream down the whole thing for the next few days.
